About The Chef

Michael Merida was born 1972 in Smithtown Long Island. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America In 1993. Upon graduation Michael got his first start at Long Island’s Famous Panama Hatties. He has since went on to work and spend time at some of the worlds top restaurants and Premier country clubs of the north shore’s gold coast which include: The Fat Duck (England), El Bulli (Spain), Ryu Gin (Japan), Plaza Athenee’ (France), Le bernadin and Park Ave. Café (New York). After years of culminating his skills at these fine establishments, Michael has gone back to his latin roots to bring a more casual cuisine to his native Long Island. The restaurant prides itself on the fact that everything is made fresh daily and everyone works in a collaborative fashion.
